April 2023, Training and Conference

Between the 24th and 28th of April 2023, Cynergy-ISAC organized their 2nd national level conference for the Romanian Energy sector. The event was awaited with great interest, managing to attract more than 70 specialists from the private and public sectors.

As always, the event was a great opportunity not just for exchanging critical information regarding cyber threats and threat actors targeting the energy sectors in Romania and Europe, but as well for collaboration, networking, creating new bonds and establishing new partnerships. In this context, we had the privilege to receive an important delegation of EE-ISAC members and hosting the organization’s 21st Members Plenary in Bucharest. This was a great opportunity to exchange expertise and to integrate the Cynergy-ISAC and EE-ISAC MISP instances.

Alongside the conference, Cynergy-ISAC organized two distinct OT Cyber Security trainings for their members. The trainings covered many important ICS cyber related topics, such as:

  • Cyber security of Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
  • Purdue Model for ICS Cyber Security
  • Governance of ICS Cyber Security
  • Threat Intelligence and OSINT
  • Incident response in ICS networks
  • The Role of Information Sharing and Analysis Centers (ISACs)

and as well a hands-on technical lab aiming to consolidate the attendees’ operational skillset.

Based on the feedback received from local authorities, partners, participants and European partners, we can humbly affirm that the event was a success. This motivates us to continue our efforts to build an even stronger community, at the national level and why not in South-East Europe, capable of responding to cyber particularities in the energy field.
